Boring update with valiant attempt at coherence
Sunday, July 6th, 2003 11:44 pmGah. It just occurred to me that I don't think I've checked my ISP e-mail account in the last week. I shudder to think at how long it's going to take to download mail next time I try... so if you've sent mail to that address (as opposed to the Yahoo account, which I've checked most days), please don't think I'm ignoring you.
In other news, last night I got less than four hours sleep (continuing my pattern of waking up at TooDarn:Early in the morning), mostly because it's been too hot to get comfortable here in my room. After waking up at five, checking LJ, reading a bit of the fifth Anita Blake book (my library hasn't had the fourth any time I've checked so skipping ahead seemed like a good idea), eating breakfast, showering, all that, I managed to go to a local church for the first time in months. Their late service today was almost two hours long, but I didn't mind because (A) my leg was behaving itself fairly well, (B) the place was air conditioned, and (C) the senior pastor did a creditable James Brown impersonation.
While I was out anyway, I decided to go to the grocery store and pick up a few things. For most of you that probably doesn't sound like a big deal, but the store's about a mile and a quarter from my house--still farther from the church--and I was walking in the midday sun. Yeep. Kinda foolish on my part, really, but I managed it. Not only that, but later in the day I decided to try to wear myself out by walking even more. On a typical day, three miles is about my limit for walking before I'm too tired to do anything else; on this day, I walked more than four and probably close to five miles. If I'm not able to fall asleep after that, there's really no hope for me this summer.
