Ready for the Storm?
I've got two brand-new candles, a flashlight & battery-powered radio that both worked within the last few days, two loads of laundry finished yesterday, plenty of food in cans and boxes, a week's worth of toilet paper, a bag of crispy mint M&Ms, a freshly-recharged cell phone, and the Kathy Mattea and Dougie Maclean versions of "Ready for the Storm" alternating in my head. What am I missing?
Here's hoping Hanna is kind to us and doesn't knock out our power or knock down our trees. We don't tend to get much tropical weather up here, and I have to say the area didn't deal with Isabel all that well when she visited a few years ago. This morning rain is very pleasant, though, and might be good for lulling me back to some much-needed sleep.

what i'm worried about is a spider bite that's looking kinda bad. (i saw no spider, just the bite.) called my primary a few minutes ago. she gave me a monday 7:30 appt. with one of her colleagues but said to head for Patient First if i get a fever, begin to have terrible pain, etc. the mistake was looking online at photos of ulcerated brown recluse bites. brrrrrrr.
i'm worried enough not to be able to type correctly. huh.

No need to make emergency preparations here - we've got flashlights and candles all over the house anyway, and with the massive canning that I do, we're ready for a storm, earthquake, or zombie apocalypse.
