I'm back! I'm back! I'm connected again!

to penguinboi and unwilly for their efforts in figuring out my computer problems,
to snowmerlin for a very caring care package,
to windsparrow for a physically small gift which helped immensely (when is Arbor Day?),
to eipooz for music to cheer me up,
to cantinera for less music but more chocolates,

to hai_kah_uhk for hardcopies of Saga episodes (Hey! I can catch up now!),
to everyone who contributed to the purchase of the new computer for being more generous than I deserve,

You can take the old hard drive out and put it in the new computer.

Look at your current HD. It has a flat, thick grey ribbon cable. There should be another cable like that, not attached to anything, that you can hook the old HD up to.

Erm, if the other cable's not attached to anything, where would I find it? I didn't see a spare in the box the computer came in.

oh, its not loose

the grey cables will go from the mother board
to the HD. there should be one attached to yourHD
and likely one that is only attached to the motherboard

No more booty calls since you've been gone. Had a Valentine's Day date after impulsively asking a temp coworker out that seemed good but then temp wouldn't return phone call and ducks me at work. No clue what happened, but not worrying about it, decided to stay single and enjoy it again. Went to Canada for vacation for a week, got a head injury in the process and a new scar. C:/ blew up and went totally corrupt after over a year of perfect service with no problems. Still rebuilding/reinstalling all I had before.

How's that?

I do have regular mouse function now, yes! So far everything is operating as expected, with the possible exception of a modem which I suspect needs some settings changed somehow.

Alternatively, my state's Arbor Day is the first Wednesday in April. And Alaska's AD is in May, while Hawaii's is in November. No wonder I can never remember!
