Thursday: A nearly-perfect October day, with temperatures in the low to mid-70s and fascinating clouds overhead. As you'd expect, I went to a farmers' market that afternoon. I'd deliberately avoided going to the bank to get cash beforehand so I wouldn't be tempted to spend more than I could afford (I do have willpower, but I have less won'tpower). Spent some pleasant time chatting with various vendors and assorted hangers-on, bought good things like Winesap apples and purple cauliflower, and stayed at the market long enough to see the lights come on at twilight competing with the lovely sunset sky.
Friday: Also a nearly-perfect October day, but a cooler, windier type. Was tired and in pain, though not unbearably so. Spent most of the day resting. I did get out in the evening to buy some less-than-local groceries (our local farmers grow neither oranges nor cranberries). Was outside to see the kind of sunset that makes you turn to the east to see the dying light set fire to the tops of brightly-colored trees.
Today: Am trying to get myself moving. Seeing me now, you'd never guess that I used to be a morning person.
