Writer's Block: Crepuscular Drama

Well, I finallly got around to removing "twilight" from my LJ interests list tonight even though it's been on there since 2002. I was always referring to the in-between times of day, you see, and apparently there are rather a lot of people right now who think that the only legitimate reason for listing that interest is if you have the slightest clue who Bella and Edward are. All I really know about the phenomenon is that many people who seem to have some taste say that the books are dreadful. Oh, and there seems to be some sparkly stuff involved somehow.

Something to fill out while waiting for the pain medication to kick in:

1. Magazines subscribed to - None at the moment, though am thinking of resubscribing to a few. Favorites used to be Discover, Psychology Today, and Utne Reader, in about that order. Sadly, it's been so long since I've sat down to read through any of those that I don't know if they're as interesting as they used to be.

2. Aside from reading, my favorite pasttimes are - listening to music, which I've recently been reminded is essential to my mental health; walking, when I have enough energy; playing with computer graphics.

3. If I were not a [n unemployed bum] (insert your own profession), I would be - healthier.

4. I am irrationally worried about - nothing. All my current worries seem perfectly rational to me--at the moment. Past worries which I knew to be irrational at the time include (a) fear that the woods behind the house would catch on fire in spite of the fact that it had been raining three days straight, and (b) panic at the sound of a ringing telephone. Oh, and in childhood there was also the fear that aliens would come to my house and steal my thumbs, but I blame that one on old sitcoms.

5. If I were the opposite sex - my parents would have thrown me off of a bridge. Well, that's what Dad always used to say, anyway.

6. The thing I miss most about childhood is - um. Having a swimming pool in the backyard?

7. I like to collect - poetry to feed to MegaHAL, even though MegaPoMo never got very far this year.

8. Though I’ve never been there, I feel inexplicably homesick for - Narnia! On second thought, that's not inexplicable at all.

9. I’ve never really liked to eat - celery. In celery's defense, it is a good shape for scooping up dip.

10. When I have nightmares, they’re usually about - being chased and/or trapped by people who want to kill and/or drug me into submission. Pretty standard stuff, really.
