Hummingwolf Today
Monday, August 20th, 2007 10:26 pmBooks Read: None. Brain's not working that way right now: see next item.
Primary State of Mind: You ever have those times when you wake up in the morning lying in bed planning of all the many things you want to do today, and then you realize that this may not be the best day to do those things you'd planned because you find yourself unable to answer important questions such as "What is my name?" and "What planet am I on?" Yeah, it's like that. I never did wake up quite as much as I hoped to.
Color of the Day: Grey. It's been beautifully cool and overcast all day long.
Main Activities: Vegging out playing JezzBall and listening to Depeche Mode and Iris.
Music of the Day: Iris and Depeche Mode--specifically, Awakening and Recording the Angel. It's just that kind of day.
Technological Annoyance of the Day: The computer's CD drive couldn't make up its mind whether to move its little "coffee cup holder" properly or not. It's allowing the music to play now, but it may never let the CD go again.
Accomplishments for the Day: Picking up a prescription, buying some food, calculating a bill, and balancing a checkbook. The math bits will need to be rechecked some day when I'm more certain of my name and planet, but I'm reasonably sure I got the right drugs and cheese. You will never go wrong with New York extra sharp cheddar, right?
Two Things To Be Grateful For:
1. Rain! Now we can stop looking out the window every five minutes checking for fire!
2. Just as the evening band of rain was coming through, a county bus came and picked me up (and my groceries, too). The driver let me ride for free and made cheerful conversation about her friend's bad relationship choices all the way home.
Smell of the Day: Either someone's smoky barbecue or wild wood smoldering. Either way, the rain's washed that scent away.
Muscle Twitch of the Day: Left lower eyelid.
