hummingwolf: animation of green and gold fractal, number of iterations increasing with time (Iterations in green and gold)
First one from [livejournal.com profile] musesfool:

Remember a few months ago we tried that found poetry thing (it had another name I can't recall at the moment), where at a specified time, everybody posted one line of their favorite poem, and then our flists were filled with found poems?

Since, as people keep reminding me, April is National Poetry Month in the US, I thought we might try it again.

So everybody reading this, post about it in your own LJ and try to get everybody to participate.

What: Post one line of poetry and nothing else (no commentary, no attribution, nothing)

When: Monday, April 5th, 4pm EDT (adjust for your own time zone please)

And then what: Then, check your flist (and your ff-list if you like), gather all the lines and post them as a really random poem.

Trust me, it's cool.

Second thing is something I picked up somewhere or other: For those of you on LJ who have lots of communities or syndicated feeds on your list and would like to be able to see them separately from the real, individual people's journals, you can do it without even making separate filters.

To see people on your list, add /?show=P to your friends page URL, like this:
http://www.livejournal.com/users/hummingwolf/friends/?show=P

To see communities, add /?show=C
http://www.livejournal.com/users/hummingwolf/friends/?show=C

And for syndicated feeds, /?show=Y

I'm sick to death of your well-groomed gods, your make-believe and your show;

hummingwolf: squiggly symbol floating over rippling water (one)
While we're doing memes from [livejournal.com profile] musesfool, just take a look at this poll. Bestest LJ-poll ever! Or at least the best one so far this week.

It's a bright, beautiful, sunshiny day, yet my only real accomplishment so far is cleaning the garbage can. Sure, it desperately needed cleaning, but I still feel that, as grand accomplishments go, it's pretty much on the pathetic side.

Well, I also feel proud of myself for not yelling at someone for something that was my fault anyway. Why the not-yelling should feel like such a big deal isn't terribly clear to me, but yelling (and this is "real life," so I do mean real yelling) at the other person was what I really, really wanted to do. Okay, I was already cranky about something that was the other person's fault; but even that was my fault almost as much as theirs, so it looks like I'm just being unreasonably cranky.

Hmm. Maybe my next accomplishment should be buying a big bag of Easter candy and then congratulating myself for eating only 1000 calories' worth when I could have eaten 2000 calories' worth instead.

hummingwolf: Drawing of a creature that is part-wolf, part-hummingbird. (Hummingwolf by Dandelion)
For the curious: Three people on my friends page posted lines of poetry at the appointed time. Here's the result:

When the ground goes soft I think of turtles
For God's sake hold your tongue, and let me love;
It was many and many a year ago, in a kingdom by the sea

So, if you want to read a longer poem, check out the results from [livejournal.com profile] musesfool's flist and fflist, found here.

In other news, I did not purchase an entire bag of Easter candy while I was out. I do feel an urge to go buy a bag of potato chips, though. Stupid cravings.
