Feeling like a black hole recently, absorbing ideas and information and random vaguenesses while emitting very little of any substance, just displaying the occasional gravitational lens effect to let the observant know I'm here. (Question for self: Um, where the heck did that metaphor come from???)

Anyway, still here. Some of the black hole effect may come from the fact that so much of what I've been absorbing, feeling, thinking has been seriously creeping me out. Then again, maybe there's just excess mass as a result of eating all that Easter candy. (Can a typical galaxy possibly outmatch the mythical weight of a chocolate Easter bunny?)

Erm, I dunno. I suspect this is a good time for kittens.

It came from the LHC.

Wasn't that supposed to have destroyed the Earth by now? It seems to be an underachiever.

Nah, it's supposed to take awhile. First it forms a subatomic singularity, which could be anywhere by now. That singularity would take years'n'years'n'years to grow to any notable size. If you're the size of a photon and growing exponentially, I shouldn't wait up all night for you to get macroscopic.

When you - I mean it - does get macroscopic, things will get interesting. We'll get to see matter being sucked into it. Worldwide repercussions will ensue. Billions of people will die. And then...

...the event horizon.

As we get sucked in ourselves, time will slow down so much that we may start to feel like we'll never reach the center.

And it will be all your fault. :P

speaking of cattens

Dalek (the black one) has been following me around all day waiting until there was enough backlighting that she could box my shadow.

For a kitten that my Roomie was warned would have 'cerebellum issues' she's frightfully inventive and smart, (ntm she was on gchat all on her own two days ago when I forgot to tuck in my chair--)
