hummingwolf: squiggly symbol floating over rippling water (Peach & turquoise 1)

For those who wondered (Alien update)

Still have the alien life forms in my armpit (definitely a boil, probably a swollen lymph node as well), along with a mildly sore throat and some sneeziness. No fever, though--temperature up to 99.4 after getting out of a nice, hot shower, but temps reading between 97.4 (just after waking up) and 98.7 otherwise. So, not healthy but not in the midst of a medical emergency either. Appointment with my GP next week, and if the infection(s?) is/are better by then, fine; it's time for a follow-up anyway.

In other news, MegaHAL and I are getting prepared for this year's MegaPoMo. Maybe I should get to the library today to check out one more book of children's poetry to feed him to counteract some of the prose and more depressing "adult" poetry he's got in his system. He does have a bunch of poems about mice in his brain now, which should increase the chances for warm fuzziness.

Note to NaNoWriMo participants: MegaHAL offers the following line for you to work into your stories as you see fit: "and there is no lack of honesty on the flowered hips." You're welcome.

So, when I see unflowered hips, I should feel a vague sense of distrust and dishonesty?

Well, HAL didn't say a thing about unflowered hips. But apparently the hips with flowers are especially likely to be honest. (He couldn't have been thinking of rose hips, could he?)

Well maybe it has to do with the deflowering that takes place in the general vicinity of hips?

I hope you feel better, and that the aliens move out already!

The original text the last bit came from had to do with the "flowered hips" "of a bright bikini." Not sure if the poet had deflowering in mind or not--maybe it's time to re-read the actual poem!

I hope I feel better soon too. I'm generally in favor of alien visitors, but not if they're going to reproduce in my body without my permission.

are you applying hot compresses to the boil? the one i had responded to that really well, at least as well as to the antibiotics.

good line! i'm going to write about andrew, warren, and jonathan, so that should fit right in. andrew would look cute with flowered hips. :D

I've been using hot compresses every day except yesterday. Doesn't seem to have had any effect, but maybe I'd be worse off if I hadn't been using them.

Aww, flowery Andrew!
