For those wondering

As soon as my body began to recover from the side effects of the medication that laid me low, I was ambushed by a cold and got all stuffed up by that instead. Bleah. After a few days of coughing and sneezing, it turned into the kind of sickness where you can breathe okay while standing or sitting upright, but not while lying down--so there's the lovely sleep-deprivation for you. Not sure if it's related to the cold or just the sleep-dep, but I've had some really impressive bouts with dizziness last night and today as well. One poor housemate kept trying to talk to me and then realizing that, "Hey, you look really tired."

Did go walking to a convenience store, which may not have been a brilliant idea but seemed absolutely necessary at the time. You see, although I'd been gobbling down oodles of wholesome fresh vegetables and meats cooked in olive or sesame oils for weeks, when I caught the cold I suddenly found myself craving all the finest-grade junque foods. So today in an effort to "feed a cold," I simply had to get one of those otherwise inexcusable egg-cheese-sausage muffins. Unfortunately, the neighborhood's former mailman ran into me and tried to start a conversation, which I really was too tired for. Fortunately, since he is the former mailman, he's seen me at the house on both good and bad days anyway, so whatever I might have managed to babble this afternoon won't have affected his opinion of me too much.

In other news, I've managed to read a grand total of two books in the month of May. Crap. As one high school English teacher used to ask, "Is this what drugs does to you?"

Been taking my mind off my body by listening to various BBC radio programs. You know, "Pipeline" over on Radio Scotland might be a great way to get myself going in the morning.

My plans are to get plenty of chicken soup tonight, followed by plenty of sleep. Since I have been steadily feeling better over the last few days, there's hope that I might be able to go out and have fun tomorrow. That's the plan, anyway!

I'm trying to! Had a good day yesterday, and a less good one today. It's a see-saw, sorta.
