Weather aftcast & brief summary

Monday: Had an appointment. Canceled the appointment when I realized that, whether my problems that morning were technically seizures or not, they were probably not something I wanted to be experiencing at the dentist's office, particularly not while I was in the dentist's chair being poked with sharp instruments. Just as well, really, because the weather was--well, it was fun weather to look at from inside the house. Wind gusts up to 50 miles per hour. Many of the leaves that had somehow remained on the trees after our Thanksgiving winds finally gave in to the inevitable on Monday. I never left the house.

Tuesday: Still "breezy," but gusts were only in the 30 mph range. Very pretty day, I thought, and with temperatures technically above freezing. I walked about three miles, enjoying the sunset at one point and a conversation a little later. More conversations after getting home, some of them entertaining.

Wednesday: IT SNOWED! IT SNOWED!! WHEE!!!

Ahem. Temperatures hovered at or just above the freezing point, so snow simply didn't stick to all the surfaces it fell on. Where it did stick, though, it piled up to about four inches in our neighborhood. A good first snow of the season, methinks. Again I walked about three miles, enjoying fresh sparkly goodness all the way.

It stuck to many things--the trees, for instance, are lovely this morning! Yesterday during the day it didn't stick to the roads much because they were still relatively warm. When it got colder after dark, things got icier, so most school systems delayed openings this morning.

For a first snow of the season, it really turned out well. :-)
