State of the Hummingwolf

As I've been telling concerned housemates, I'm actually not sure whether I'm feeling better or not. Coughing a lot with great gobs of mucus, but my appetite is good and my energy levels aren't too horrible, though I'd really rather stay in bed than go out and do anything, thank you very much. Went out walking for a little bit yesterday, just to get groceries and library books. It was good to stretch my legs. But knowing that I was sick, I was sensible, walking only about... um... okay, that wasn't sensible at all (nearly five miles??). Still, sensible or not, I bought enough chicken thighs & veggies to make a nice pot of soup today.

So yeah. Spent today resting with a big pot of chicken soup, an old Carpenters CD, and Jane Austen. Commiserated with a housemate who's been feeling even worse than I have, though they finally seem to be on the mend. Here's hoping my own body's kind enough to get all this gunk out before my birthday this weekend. Even if there are no actual celebrations planned, I do not want to spend Saturday coughing up a lung.

I can't say it was lovely, really, considering how not-well I was feeling. Still, it's a blessing to have good food, good music, and a good book!
