Please Stand By. We Are Experiencing Technical Difficulties.

We are experiencing biological difficulties as well, but it's mostly the technical ones that are keeping me offline at home. If anyone wants to tell me anything, please call the cell number.

::sigh::

Spent most of the day feeling like something that someone had scraped off the bottom of their shoe. Finally felt energetic enough to drag myself out of the house about an hour ago. Was too dazed to notice any details about the bird of prey briefly alighting on a dead branch at the top of a tree along my route, but was aware enough to be in awe.

Well, if getting online isn't possible, it's a good thing there's a big, juicy pile of library books in the bedroom at home. Recent reading: Chris Moriarty's Spin State; am now about halfway through the sequel, Spin Control. Somehow I stumbled onto the books which are exactly what I wanted to read right now. Cohen is my new fictional boyfriend. Cohen can be my fictional girlfriend too, if he wants. He's just that good.

Leonard Cohen?

Cohen, a character in the Chris Moriarty books I've been reading. Well, sort of a character and sort of... something more complicated. In Spin State, he's something close to the idealized romance-novel hero for the hard SF crowd. :-)

I'm glad you got to get out for a little while. How's your weather been, of late. Has it cooled off enough to be comfortable?
Ours was cooling a bit, but we're having a little Indian Summer with warmer temps. Sounds like rain for the weekend, though.

Weather had been mostly hot and dry, altogether too summery for my tastes. Finally a cool front came through and we got a good dose of rain followed by cooler, more pleasant temperatures. Yesterday was too muggy for me to be comfortable (even if I hadn't been too fatigued & in too much pain to enjoy life anyway), but this morning is lovely and promises to be followed by a few more beautiful days.
