There's an old wives' tale that says if you die in a dream, you'll never wake up. Well, of course it isn't true. I was killed this week, shot to death in a blaze of explosive, bleeding glory, and I've felt fine ever since.

But last night when I went to the bathroom in a dream house, I looked in the mirror and saw no one there. I'm still alive in the waking world, but am I undead in my dreams?

you remind me of these lines in bruce springsteen's wonderful song, Valentine's day:

"They if you die in your dreams you really die in your bed
But honey last night I dreamed my eyes rolled straight back in my head
And God's light came shinin' on through
I woke up in the darkness scared and breathin' and born anew."

not that it's ever happened to me! glad you survived your dream.

do you think your subconscious believes that you're a vampire? are your teeth getting pointier? *g*

Oh, thanks for sharing those lyrics! I'm afraid I don't know the song at all.

I know I've fallen down hard in dreams before, but I don't recall ever being shot before this week. Huh.

Maybe my subconscious does think I'm a vampire! I don't often see mirrors in my dreams at all--maybe I've been avoiding them. Teeth don't seem to be any pointier. I'm just getting a bit long in the tooth, alas!

Unrelated: [livejournal.com profile] musesfool just posted a link to a Weekly World News interview with the Winchesters. If you've seen or heard about previews for next week's episode, you'll understand why this is appropriate... though it's unclear whether those are actual spoilers for next week's ep. or not.

ooh, thanks for the link -- i'll go read! thursday night's episode was very dramatic. those two keep getting their hineys in a crack, don't they?

(i swear that's not meant to be obscene. honest, i read it somewhere, ages ago: oooweee, we got our hineys in a crack now! like, stuck. in trouble. uh. *slinking off in shame*)

Don't worry, that sounds just like something Dean would say. ;-)
