hummingwolf: Drawing of a creature that is part-wolf, part-hummingbird. (Hummingwolf by Dandelion)

(no subject)

Spent the weekend dealing with virus on top of nasty migraine. You don't want to hear about that and I don't want to think about it, so let's skip the details. I did find enough energy to walk about 2.5 miles Saturday in spite of migraine (and regretted it only somewhat) and a couple of miles yesterday.

Today: Woke up at 4:30 (intentionally). Now at nearly 8 o'clock, I am still having trouble getting my derrière in gear, which fact annoyeth me mightily.

As happens so often these days, I am being mooned by a raccoon who has his face stuck down the neighbor's chimney. Oops--it looked like there was smoke coming out of the chimney for a minute there. I hope fuzzy-face is still breathing okay.

More tea. No chocolate. Turn up the volume on the music. Get moving somehow, someway, swiftly.

The fuzzy masked carnivore is shaking himself and crawling down into the chimney, so maybe I can shake myself up in a minute too, preferably without anyone blowing smoke in my face.

*giggle* what a greeting!

Indeed! There's really nothing quite like having that be the first mammal you see in the morning.

I suspect that the malaise going around lately is bacterial rather than viral. I was feeling unwell, and prescribed antibiotics for a wholly different issue - 4 tablets/day of erethromycine which is enough, in my mother's words, to kill "staph, strep, black plague, rats at 50 paces...." - and have been feeling vastly better. Since antibiotics have no effect on virii, it's prokaryotic.

Not that this makes much difference in the scheme of things.

You know, it's been years since I've seen a raccoon. I think I miss those little garbage can bandits.

It's possible I've got something bacterial going on too, but I do believe it started out with a cold (probably weakening me sufficiently to be attacked by whatever else may've been going around).

We get lots of raccoons in this neighborhood. They mostly leave our garbage alone, except when someone forgets to rinse cans sufficiently before putting them out for recycling. Being awakened by the late-night sounds of fighting raccoons isn't much fun, though.
