Recent Republican jobs proposals, a short but enlightening list from Slacktivist.

I'd like to hear from my friends about the utility of these proposals, particularly any of my friends who might be dwarves in Florida.

I can't speak to the dwarf tossing, but...

....the snake issue is very real. The only comment I would add there is that this is now more of a genie-out-of-the-bottle situation, but on the other hand, why risk making things worse by introducing yet another python species to the area...or to another area?

Well, no, I do have another comment. The National Park Service, various hunters in the Big Cypress reserve and other areas are hiring people to hunt down pythons, which is considerably harder than you would think it is (not because of the danger, but because it's very hard to see them) so in that sense the pythons are creating jobs, but not many of them, because none of these organizations have enough money to pay for enough snake hunters, and even then I am very dubious about our (humans) ability to eradicate pythons in the Everglades, given that after 400 years we haven't been able to eradicate the damn pigs.
