After all yesterday's crazy walking, today was a day for sleeping, reading, resting, and coughing. Rather too much coughing and probably not enough sleeping, though the warm wind blowing through the window did bring me vivid dream or two. Everything after this point is just another LiveJournal dream post which you probably want to skip over.
My boyfriend's native language in the last dream was an obscure dialect spoken around Germany many hundreds of years ago (the man looked remarkably young for his age). We worked helping to run an orphanage deep in the woods, the two of us among those helping to maintain the property and keep the kids and workers safe. The children seemed ordinary enough (I saw some of them in an earlier dream when a RL friend of mine showed them part of a movie as a kind of bedtime story), but had lost their parents because of supernatural activity and were under some kind of supernatural threat themselves, possibly because they were not as ordinary as they appeared.
So the boyfriend and I were in the forest together, alone except for our dogs who were scattered around amongst the trees, and we were having a multilingual aww-inspiring moment of sweetness--something to do with a song he'd composed for me and a language lesson, among other things--when he saw something at a distance from us and told me that a man we both knew had a message for me. I turned to look, knowing that the guy in question wanted me to go to work for him doing something both sinister and magical, but all I could see was a sickly green light, glowing more vertical than horizontal as if it were trying to look like a man yet failing to resemble much of anything at all. My boyfriend kept pointing in the direction where he saw something much more clearly than I could, when suddenly all the dogs came to us barking wildly, circling us closely to protect us from something only they could see, and in the press of canine bodies there appeared two injured young coyotes, also trying to protect us though obviously needing protection themselves. I never saw what it was that was coming for us, but I woke up feeling of long, sharp teeth going through my left hand.
