Re: House

Though Gregory House is canonically a TV junkie, he was probably talking about Gray's Anatomy the book, not the show.

Is it just me, or does Hugh Laurie do a great job of channeling the spirit of Humphrey Bogart without actually being very much like him at all?

It's been way too long since I last watched a Bogart movie.

I love Hugh Laurie. :) *sighs happily*

Kathy was laughing along at the Bogart dialog, then out of nowhere: "Hey, I know that speech from somewhere!"

It took several minutes of increasingly less subtle clues to get her to understand where it was from.

She's good at recognising things in general, but has some kind of persistent mental block in figuring out *where* she knows them from. I had a really tough time getting her to recognise Principal Quark, and an even harder time recognising "They took my bear!" from House when the actor turned up on The Closer. I tried to explain, and she looked at me like *I* was the one having aphasia...

Heh. At first I was wondering why House threw a seemingly random name in there, but eventually it did become obvious. I really do need to find a way to rewatch Casablanca one day.
