Left the house early in the morning (well, early for me) to get to my appointment.
Geese honking
Woodsmoke
Bright blue sky and cirrus clouds
Morning glories
Children playing
Happiness.
Beautiful fall day, really. Had to get on the Metro, so I read bits of my book (now on Bujold's Cetaganda) for the few minutes I couldn't enjoy the weather. Got off the train, found that I'd missed the bus I'd meant to get on, but the next one would get me to the appointment only a little bit after the appointed time--and then when the next one came, I realized I'd miscalculated. Though I had a SmartCard on me with enough value to ride a Metrobus, the bus I wanted to be on was a county bus. And though I did have enough change on me to ride a county bus, it was, alas, enough change to ride a bus in an entirely different county and not the one I was actually in. So I called to reschedule while kicking myself. Hey, at least the guy on the other end of the line was friendly enough.
Decided to walk around the neighborhood since I was there anyway, enjoying the little shops and resisting the urge to spend food stamps at the Thai grocery to buy apple snail meat. Unfortunately, though it was a beautiful morning for wandering around, my left foot decided it wasn't through being upset with me, so I gave up and limped back home (well, limped back to the station, and then limped home from a different station). When I got here, I realized I was rather tired, really, and developing a fairly nasty headache. Collapsed into bed. Have barely left my room since.
So I didn't accomplish anything particularly useful and I was too worn out to do anything fun. On the plus side, at least I managed to talk myself out of buying dead apple snails, though I'm willing to buy them next week if I can figure out what to do with them. Curry soup, perhaps?
What the heck... while I'm here, how about some memage?

Huh. That was surprisingly accurate. Well, except for the "satanic" part--I am not the evil twin!
