Thursday evening, I described myself as "rapidly approaching that kind of exhaustion where you either have a mystical experience or become sick as a dog, without having any real choice in the matter."

What actually happened is that I became very feverish and spent most of yesterday curled up in warm blankets in bed (in about a 90 degree bedroom). Today was better, though I still couldn't honestly say I've been functional. Also had many fragmentary dreams, some of which came true by the time I woke up--though not, alas, the one where we had an unexpected, deep, beautiful snowfall here. We may have to wait a few months for that one.

I've also been experiencing an intense, seemingly physical need for the music of Kevin Gilbert. One of these days I hope to get to hear The Shaming of the True. In the meantime, Thud and the Toy Matinee and N.R.G. stuff will do quite nicely.

Speaking of snow...our local weather service suddenly and inexplicably changed our chances for snow today from "minimal" to "low." So if we here have a low chance for snow in a South Florida August...

...you never know :)

That's a wonderful, wonderful thought... but it's about 90 degrees here now, so any snow we might get wouldn't last very long!
