Notes
Note to those who were wondering: No, my home is not in serious danger of flooding. At least, it's not in danger of flooding unless (A) there is some climatic disaster of science fictional proportions or (B) the roof decides to leak. So far, so good.
Note to self: Make getting prescriptions filled top priority tomorrow. You may be able to go without your drugs during the better times of year, but in the dreaded heat and humidity of summer you need all the help you can get.
Additional note to self: Try not to drown on the way to the doctor's office.
Note about someone I met today: You could feel the waves of stress emanating from this guy. At some times in my life, I've been told that I'm wound too tight, and I habitually tense up some of my muscles so much that people suspect they might actually be bone, but this guy makes me look totally relaxed. He didn't seem to be suffering from recent trauma or anything like that, mind you, just--
if each soul has its own music, his was loud and discordant. I wonder if there is a melody hidden in there somewhere or if noise is all he has left.

I hope I can get my prescriptions without snorkeling. Need to get the slips from the doctor's office before going to the pharmacy, which may mean going through some low-lying areas. Where I am, it really doesn't look more soggy than after any other big summer rain, so I keep forgetting that some parts of the area have evacuations or failing dams or whatever. Guess I should call the doctor's office before trying to go there just to make sure they're actually open today.
