Y'all are scaring me

This is all in locked posts by various people so I can't provide links for any of the rest of you, but...

why on Earth are so many of you suddenly talking about Ghostbusters sex?

My point exactly.

Don't cross the streams!

I've never actually seen Ghostbusters (though I probably read the novelization once because that's the sort of thing I did in the mid-'80s), so how many different naughty ways should I interpret that?

[identity profile] aekiy.livejournal.com 2006-06-06 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
In the movies, they used proton packs, or something like that, to fight off ghosts. They shot out these unwieldy steams of bright light which looked something like lightning that were used to trap ghosts into a little box. Apparently, crossing those streams is just a really bad idea.

Beyond that, well, I think you're supposed to use your imagination, ya.. (^*^);

Dr. Egon Spengler: There's something very important I forgot to tell you.
Dr. Peter Venkman: What?
Dr. Egon Spengler: Don't cross the streams.
Dr. Peter Venkman: Why?
Dr. Egon Spengler: It would be bad.
Dr. Peter Venkman: I'm fuzzy on the whole good/bad thing. What do you mean "bad"?
Dr. Egon Spengler: Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light.
Dr. Raymond Stantz: Total protonic reversal.
Dr. Peter Venkman: That's bad. Okay. Alright, important safety tip, thanks Egon.

I can only respond to this by referring to the joke with the punchline "Have you seen the mess that snails make?"

No, it's not your fault, and if your journal had been the only place I had seen it, I could have slept peacefully last night secure in the belief that it was just an anomaly. But what was going on over in your comments section was apparently part of a trend...

I'm askeered.

How do you use the "friends of my friends" feature again?

To look at the entries by friends of friends of any paid user, go to the URL:
[paidusername].livejournal.com/friendsfriends

If you just want to see the personal journals followed by your friends, you can go to
http://urbpan.livejournal.com/friendsfriends/?show=P

Communities would be the same URL except with ?show=C at the end, and syndicated feeds would involve a ?show=Y

If you have friends filters set up, you can look at just the friends of that subset of your friends
http://urbpan.livejournal.com/friendsfriends/[filter name]

Um, yes, I may have played around with that feature a little bit once upon a time.

I suspect it has something to do with today's date. Mpreg Ghostbuster's sex is unholy.

As frightening as Ghostbusters sex--and Ghostbusters mpreg--may be, I spent 6/6/06 dealing with something even more appropriate: voice mail systems. Specifically, voice mail systems of doctors' offices and bureaucracies.

[identity profile] bunney.livejournal.com 2006-06-06 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought I was the only one! *cries* I'm sorry! The end of the world is nigh!

The sentence of the Ghostbusters mpreg I happened upon today:

It was in the shower that Egon Spengler discovered the growth in his lower abdomen.

(o_0) I was skeered, so I ran away. Now, reading through it, it sorta sounds interesting. It's surprisingly well-written.

[identity profile] bunney.livejournal.com 2006-06-06 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
The *first* sentence, that is.

Really, I suppose all the Ghostbusters sex was appropriate for 6/6/06.

Very very scary.

I didn't mean to come late to the discussion, but, a friend of mine put up a big Which Ghostbusters Are You quiz and dissertation thingee around the same time, so I think there is some bizarre Ghostbuster nexus going on.

Just when I was starting to relax, having finally convinced myself that it was just an anomaly after all...

Thanks for the nightmares, Un. :-P
