I did get to a dentist today, by the way. He didn't do much this afternoon, but he did talk a bit about what would need to be done for my poor mouth. Sounded to me like lots of extensive treatment, though I am reassured that my teeth are unlikely to all fall out at once (at least not right away). Since there will be multiple things to be done, he's giving my name & number to a couple of dental students so I can at least get the work done at a discount price--not free, but relatively cheap. For now, I'm taking more antibiotics, continuing with painkillers, rinsing my mouth out with saltwater, and eating soft foods. Actually I can eat things chewier than yogurt now, though my gums aren't shy about letting me know when I get too ambitious.

Last Valentine's Day I spent too many hours in the ER because bronchitis had me coughing up blood. Not that I'm enjoying the dental problems, but I'd have to say that this V-Day was more comfortable than 2/14/2005.

Ever have a day when you hear the phone ring and answer it knowing in your gut that you were about to find out someone had died? It turned out to be someone I never knew all that well, but he was young, he was kind, and I'm sad to hear he's gone.

I'm glad you got to a dentist today and glad that your mouth isn't in imminent jeopardy. It sucks that you have to get a lot of work done.

It's also very sad to hear a young person has died, even if we don't know them very well. When I worked on obits at my old job I had a rough time with the young people who died and I never met them.

Good luck with the dentist stuff...and with life in general.

It's been a hard couple of weeks for you. But yes, this Valentine's day is better than last years. :-)

I'm sorry about the young man's un-timely death.

I'm sorry to hear that but it's good to know that you saw the dentist and I hope that things will be getting better now.
Good luck!

Good to hear you've at least seen a dentist.
Maybe you'll eventually get money to get it cleared out. *hopes*

It still amazes me that the healthcare system doesn't regard dental issues as serious enough to cover on aid.

Good luck with it all, CB. I hope things get better, soon.
