O brave new world that has such beverages in't!
The Campbell Soup Company, makers of V-8 100% vegetable juice, have come out with a brave new beverage: V-Fusion. Each 8-ounce glass of V-Fusion counts as a full serving of fruit and a full serving of vegetables! Why? How? It's a fruit-vegetable fusion! You can have a glass full of strawberry and tomato, sweet potato and banana--all at once!
This has nothing to do with LJ Rabbit Hole Day. The V-8 people actually came up with this product, and I actually bought the strawberry-banana flavor. I'm not at all sure which fact scares me more. (Curiosity is a dangerous thing.)
For those of you wondering: the juice does taste like strawberry and banana... and a bit of tomato. A tomato may be a fruit in the botanical sense, but I remain unconvinced that it has any business mixing it up with bananas and strawberries.

And I know my local grocery store was counting on the fact that people like me will try weird things if the sale price is good enough.

at least for me, I LOVE veggies :D

I'm a veggie fan too! Unlike a lot of people, I actually love the original V-8.

I never really have used ketchup much. If they made purple salsa, though, I'd probably buy it.

Isn't there already carrot with mango V8 juice, or something like that?

The strawberry banana flavor has juices of something like 4 fruits and 5 vegetables in it. The veggie juice has more sweet potato than anything else (sweet potatoes have juice??), but the tomato flavor is a little more obvious somehow.

That sounds really, really, gross...but very, very good for you!!!

I bought this bread once that advertised as a good source of Omega 3. Wish I'd read the ingredient list before purchasing. I made a PB&J sandwich with it and it tasted... off. Maybe like something had gone slightly rancid. I checked the ingredient list and found - fish oil! I'm not kidding. I realized it did taste fishy once I understood what was causing the off flavor.
There's really no excuse when flax seeds are a perfectly acceptable source of omega-3 healthy fats...one that would be quite compatible with bread and give a hint of nutty flavor rather than a nasty fish taste.

I've heard there's some debate about whether omega-3s in flax seeds & walnuts are as useful for people as the omega-3s in fatty fish. But when it comes to bread, I'm with you--nuts & seeds are definitely the better choice. Not many people want to eat jelly with their fish!

There are issues of pollution being stored in the fatty tissues of fish. There are also studies which show a vegan diet as being more healthful than one containing even small amounts - say 5% - of total food calories from animal protein. I suspect in the end it may be six of one and a half dozen of the other.
