To Friends of Narnia

Andrew Rilstone has a long and detailed review & analysis of the Narnia movie. There are spoilers both for the Disneywood movie and the book, so if you would rather not know about the differences between the two versions of the story it is best not to visit Rilstone's analysis. Good reading, though. Helped to make this cloudy Monday morning so much brighter. (Don't forget to read the footnotes.)

Heh, thank Aslan for Andrew Rilstone. I am now considerably less terrified that it would be a waste of dvd-rental money to watch it. In fact I might venture to say that, presented with the opportunity, I would be considerably less likely to stumble out of the theater halfway through, choking on my disgust for the grossness with which the production handled making a movie of a well-beloved book (which is what I did with Fellowship of the Ring).

Yep, his nice detailed analysis is good for clarifying why I liked the movie a lot, while not thinking it was The Most Amazing Film Ever. It's definitely worth seeing. If you happen to get enough spare cash or free tickets, it's worth seeing in a theater.
