Update: Fridays through Mondays

Fridays: Since I am so far this year managing to rise to my self-imposed challenge of going to the Thursday farmers' market every single week, my Fridays are predictable: I rest. Many Fridays, I never leave the house at all. Some Fridays, I leave the house but not the yard. A few Fridays, I do go out for a walk or some other activity, but this is highly unlikely to happen before sunset. Mostly, I just need to rest.

My most interesting recent Friday was during the miserable string of days over 100 degrees when friends kindly allowed me to keep cool at their home till the worst of the weather was past. That day included fun time learning how to use [livejournal.com profile] stardansr's streaming Netflix while playing with cats, so it was far more entertaining than any other Friday in recent memory.

Saturdays: Wildly variable. Some Saturdays--such as this most recent one--I continue to need to rest; other Saturdays are spent doing something more entertaining, such as going to the library. I've even made it to the last two Mad Science get-togethers! The Saturday during the heat wave was a fun one: I went with [personal profile] hasufin and his niece to their fencing practice, and then, suspecting that the great overheated outdoors would be more pleasant than the AC-less practice space, I went wandering around one of the many little farmers' markets that spring up in the DC area on Saturdays. I meandered away from that for a bit, realized that I was within easy walking distance of DC's famous Ben's Chili Bowl, and further realized that it had been too long since I'd had a half-smoke. If I could remember the name of the woman who took my order, I'd tell you, because she deserves recognition for being fabulous at customer service on a hot day in a popular restaurant. Anyway, after my half-smoke with chili, other events of the day included going to a local herb shop and taking over half a local coffee shop with the Mad Science folks. Good times.

Sundays: Also wildly variable, although chances are excellent that at some point during a Sunday I will go to a store and buy lots of food.

Mondays: Good days to go to the library, which is what I intend to do in about half an hour. Also good days to go to the supermarket to buy the things I forgot to buy on Sunday, so you can guess what my plans are for this evening.

Thank you! It's good to be alive. Well, it's good most of the time, anyway!

Of course you do! Who doesn't?--aside from tourists who are convinced that the high prices are evidence that Ben's is a tourist trap trying to gouge the out-of-towners, not realizing that Ben's prices are actually quite reasonable for a place inside the Beltway?

Wait a minute! You've been to Ben's Chili Bowl but you haven't visited me??? I feel so neglected now. ::sniff::

Wait...do you live at Ben's now?? I'll totally visit you! ;)

Seriously, I need to visit you...I don't think I've ever seen your place, though I have an idea of it in my mind & fear that the reality will never match up with my expectation.

How about a Renaissance Festival outing sometime? I'm not sure when I'll go, but it will be before the event closes in October. ;)
