"I feel pretty, oh so pretty..."

Let's ignore for the moment the fact that today was a day full of sneezing, sniffling, coughing, and absolutely nothing productive (aside from the coughing). Let us also ignore the fact that I would be majorly stressing out over a wide variety of issues if I had the energy to do so. Let's think of happy things. Today [livejournal.com profile] nalidoll linked to this site, which proved to be the greatest source of amusement I have encountered all week. The site linked to appears to be in the formative stages of being a genealogy resource, but that particular page's function at the moment is to compare a photograph you upload to the pictures in the site's database and then tell you which celebrities (if any) you most resemble.

Now, I never have liked to get my picture taken, so there are not very many digital photos of me at all. But there are a few. When I tried the first few, the site couldn't find any matches at all. I persisted, however, and was well rewarded for my efforts, as the first celebrity list it produced was the following:

Primo Levi
James Callaghan
Peter Jackson
Kim Il Sung
Camilo Jose Cela
Donald Rumsfeld
Hans-Dietrich Genscher
Henry Kissinger
Ariel Sharon
Halle Berry

I cackled madly about this, and kept cackling randomly throughout the day.

After analyzing my baby photo (larger version of the picture in the icon), it gave me a more feminine and flattering list, with the top three being Renee Zellweger, Katie Holmes, and Werner Heisenberg (this last one is uncertain). And now when I look in the mirror I can't help thinking that I do look remarkably like a cross between Katie Holmes and Donald Rumsfeld. And here you all thought the KH/Tom Cruise pairing was scary. (For the record: I have never knowingly worked for the benefit of either the Bush Administration or the Church of Scientology.)

This is hilarious! How could anyone look like both Halle Berry and Ariel Sharon??

Well, it was a really blurry photo. :-)

Your list is....well, different. And interesting. :-)

So sorry about the sneezing, sniffling and coughing. When you don't have much energy to begin with, those just suck any energy you do have right out of you.

From now on, anytime someone online asks what I look like, I'll tell them to imagine a combination of Katie Holmes and Donald Rumsfeld. It's no stranger than telling them I'm a cross between a wolf and a hummingbird, anyway!

Yeah, the cold/whatever is not being kind to me now. I do hope it disappears quickly; I do not have time for this now.

that was fun. my ten: Joan Miro (he's a dude, dude), Robert Zemeckis, Olivier Messiaen (?), Frank Zappa (!!), Anthony Hopkins (all righty, then), Ariel Sharon, Robert Altman, Michelle Pfeiffer (this is the only one that's true), GB Shaw, John Ashcroft.

a photo of myself at 13 netted young judy garland, which is also sorta true. and john glenn as a geezer. :D

I don't even know what Joan Miro looks like; I just remember his paintings (sorta, vaguely). The resemblance to Anthony Hopkins is very strong, you know. Okay, maybe not as strong as my resemblance to Henry Kissinger. ;-)

I uploaded that recent picture of me (that I took right after I dyed my hair red) and got only one match. Christina Ricci! I never thought I looked a whole lot like her, but that particular photo, and the photo of her they displayed do look similar. Probably because they're almost the exact same pose and very similar expressions.

You do look kinda like Christina Ricci in that pic. It's a cute photo, too!

Thanks :-) It's weird, now the program isn't working for me. :-( I wanted to do a picture of Fadi. I guess I'll try it later.

It said that I look like Julie Andrews and Katie Holmes.

Anthony Kiedis
Julie Andrews
Monica Lewinsky
Pierce Brosnan
Katie Holmes
Humphrey Bogart

I can see your resemblance to all those people, if I squint my eyes and shake my head a bit! Okay, maybe not Monica Lewinsky. Your list contains *mostly* cool people, so I'm a bit jealous.

I'm so happy with my results that I may post them in my journal, later!!!

I got Bridget Bardot as #1

You're compared to pretty people! I'm compared to Henry Kissinger. Oh well!

The first photo I submitted had a good amount of clarity to it and was a scan of a print taken with a good camera. When I submitted a second, not-so-good quality photo for analysis (I had way too much fun with this thing) I got some of the same results as I did with the first photo but I also got Alec Baldwin!!! LOL!

(this last one is uncertain)

Guh! I laughed so hard I couldn't stop, and ended up choking. That was *very* silly indeed, missy.

And three months later, someone finally laughs at the joke.

(That chimp icon is very cute, btw.)

AH-HA! I never got this comment notification!

Yeah, I tend to be amused by physics jokes. The math is *way* beyond me most of the time -- I still don't even know what Selector Calculus *is*, let alone how it works -- but I know enough to appreciate most of the humorous stuff.
