How today began: I made some plain oatmeal, added some natural peanut butter, and then added what I thought was cinnamon. Yes, if you had asked what I was putting on my cereal, I would have been absolutely certain that the bottle said "Cinnamon" on it--and I would have been wrong, because it was clearly "Cumin." Not my first choice of breakfast spice, but it didn't taste bad at all.
I've been in an '80s music mode lately (Siouxsie & the Banshees' Peepshow was on repeat for Halloween, then Howard Jones' Dream Into Action took over my stereo yesterday) and had the Nik Kershaw song "Faces" running through my head early this morning. Unfortunately, I only have that song on a cassette taped from the LP, and my cassette deck stopped working a couple years ago. So I dragged out a tape player left behind by a housemate long ago, cleaned off the accumulated dust and cobwebs, then fired the thing up in the hopes it would work well enough to satisfy my musical cravings. The machine did work to an extent, but no matter how I fiddled with the assortment of knobs and buttons, all sound on the right channel was replaced by a distracting mechanical hum. There was some evidence that the deck might want to eat my cassette as well, so I stuffed the beast in the hall closet and went back to listening to other peoples' Launchcast stations.
Today is better than yesterday though, at least so far. Yesterday was one of those days where... well, any details would be TMI, so let's just say that leaving the house was inadvisable. At least I was cheered up by the first new House episode in a month. Hooray for snark and incredibly cute House/Wilson scenes!

Yes, it was good to have a day better than the day before. Here's hoping today is a good one for both of us. :-)
