hummingwolf: Drawing of a creature that is part-wolf, part-hummingbird. (Hummingwolf by Dandelion)

That figures

Here I was awake early (early-ish, at least) and ready to take care of some things that need takin' care of. Then I get online to check out some things and discover that today is a Federal Holiday. Do you have any idea how many of my plans relied on things being open which are never open on federal holidays? Almost all of them, as it turns out. I've got some less-urgent things I can do today, if I can remember what those things were. Oh, and one thing I had planned for today might be doable, since I'm not sure if that office cares about such a minor holiday.

Maybe I can finally buy something chocolatey at least. I haven't had any chocolate at all since I was 35 years old, and we all know that's far too long to go without chocolate.

Prayers & good thoughts for [livejournal.com profile] bunney on her surgery today. May she bounce back quickly and as feisty as ever.

Yeah, that stupid Dago Portuguese spy screwed us up again. It's been over 500 years, can we just forget that clown please?? = )

Columbus makes a good story, or at least a good collection of stories that get interpreted a zillion different ways depending on who the storyteller is. But in my world, Halloween is a much more important holiday.

And I forget about this holiday every. Single. Year. I'll be sitting around wondering why the mail hasn't come yet or the traffic reporters are talking about "holiday traffic," and I'll think to myself, "But there's no holiday in the middle of October, is there? Wait--Columbus Day? Columbus Day? What kind of lame excuse for a day off is that??"

So happy two-days-after-birthday to you!

None. It's been days! Days and days without chocolate! Woe is me.

Chocolate is the reason for living, I think.
Some say it's sex but it's been years since I got THAT so...and I've survived years before that without sex.
Now chocolate on the other hand... :D
