Good news!

I just saved a bunch of money on my car ins...
Wait, that can't be right. I don't even have a car.

Oh, now I remember: The judge who decided I was ineligible for money from Social Security has been officially declared to be a poopyhead. This does not mean I will be getting money. What it does mean is that someone at SS needs to look at my case again and make a decision based in reality. I'm too tired to parse all the legalese, but it looks like the court wondered the same thing any other sane person wondered: Why the heck did the judge ignore the evidence from two doctors who have seen me for extended periods of time while giving great weight to the opinion of a quack an esteemed physician who saw me only once (and, as I recall, had no clue what fibromyalgia was and had an office which makes this house full of grad students look clean by comparison)?

So anyway, I still have no money, but at least one thing has gone my way.

Wow I'm glad you'll have another chance to demonstrate why you should be eligible to collect social security. It scares me that applying for money when you are disabled and can't work is such an arduous process. Since you can't earn a living and so far haven't been able to collect needed benefits from the government, how have you been surviving in the meantime?

I'm not sure that there will be a chance for *me* to demonstrate anything now. I think they just need to have someone looking at the evidence already presented again. Could be wrong--will call my lawyer tomorrow or Tuesday to find out more.

For a while, I was getting some benefits (*small* amount of cash) from the state. Lost that late last year and haven't found a way to get that back yet, so I've been surviving on charity & gifts from friends.

*hugs* I'm so sorry... that sounds like a really hard way to live.
