Got Synesthesia?
Know any synesthetic people? Do you have any questions about the phenomenon?
nalidoll has this post: Synaesthesia - my experiences and a request to hear about yours... There are some interesting discussions going on in comments.
(For the record: I seem to have some subconscious synesthesia going on which breaks through to consciousness every once in a while. My most conscious association is that music has flavor, though I can and often do ignore it.)

I'll say something, and someone else will say the same thing with different words--but while they disagreed with me, what the other person said seems more agreeable. That's just a matter of words not expressing the experience really well, guess.. am rambling.
Will have to try and pay attention. A lot of things seem to have sound and texture and stuff, as

she has a few questions about personal symptoms and she is also wondering about current research. she opened the post up so i could share.
I know this is public but I don't want to post it there
Maybe I've got some synestheia going on, but I figure like enverything else, I just have a couple of symptoms, not enough to be officially "diagnosed" but I put a lot of my weird ness to that and or mild asperbergers (very mild, more likley just brainfog and denseness). I think most of it is lack of oxygen to the brain on my part, which science is showing causes my "dejavu" feelings sometimes, along with other things. I'm sure it will be shown some day that some of us are just oxygen deprived and the symptoms mimic synaestheisa.
Music for me has a lot of visual going on - sometimes patterns, sometimes scenes. I also use it to aid my moods.
Words and number patterns stick with me, too. I'll find a phrase that is soothing and love it, even if it sucks (like if I like something for work but it's not "correct" and we don't use it).
Numbers have some colors, sometimes, it's definetley not an all the time thing.

I have a feeling that some mild version of synesthesia is more common than people think. Maybe it's like all those little environmental noises most people don't notice--some people focus on one thing and filter out the extraneous sensations, while other people don't filter things out. Right at this moment, all my senses are separate, but if I were more tired or migrainey or what-have-you, the filters could stop working so well.
