Bleargh.
From the National Weather Service:
I really don't like summer.
Have managed to make a few phone calls today, but they don't change the fact that I can't afford to go get tests done. Am trying not to panic, since panic takes energy and does not accomplish a thing anyway. I've done what I can for the moment.
Now it's time to drag myself out of this hot room into the sunshine. Either I'll melt into a fizzy puddle or I'll get myself to a nice, air-conditioned library. Wish me luck!
This Afternoon: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Partly cloudy and hot, with a high around 100. Heat index values as high as 111. West wind between 11 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
A HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR DANGEROUS HEAT INDICES OF 105 TO 110 DEGREES. THERE IS ALSO A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING. PLEASE REFER TO NPWLWX AND SPSLWX FOR FURTHER DETAILS.
