I hate summer. A big reason why I hate summer is that my body hates summer--or possibly it's summer that hates my body. Either way, there's a basic incompatibility here. Not only am I not doing what I want to do, but there's plenty of stuff I need to deal with yet have been unable to because heat, humidity, and my corporeal form really aren't getting along. And the more time I spend without air-conditioning, the less able I am to get myself to someplace potentially cool enough not to sap my strength, my energy, and my will to live.

People have tried telling me that spending the summer without air conditioning will enable my body to acclimate to the weather so I will be bouncy and productive during the canine days. I tell you this from unhappy experience: People Lie.

On a happier note: Ice cream is a good thing. I approve.

You had AC before, didn't you? What happened?

No A/C for the last three years. See, air conditioning costs extra here. I haven't been able to afford it in a long while.

Ugh. I actually know what this is like. There were a couple summers in my youth (down in south Florida) spent with a broken a/c and my parents couldn't afford to fix it. I used to hop in a cold shower every hour or so on the days I couldn't get to the mall or any air conditioned place. And thank God for the rain! I hope you endure until you feel that Autumn chill in the air.

Thank you. We're supposed to have somewhat cooler weather here soon. I live in hope!
