Note to new tag-fanatics

I don't actually remember seeing this the first couple times I read the tag FAQ, but it's there now: When you read your tag links, "You will be able to see the last 100 entries from your journal with that tag." Which is to say that those of you who have been putting over 100 items into some category in your memories should definitely not use tags to replace memories.

Of course, it's possible that the LJ folks will get rid of that limit in the future--tags are a brand-new feature, after all, and they probably didn't want to overload anything when first introducing them. Even though I don't plan on using tags for most posts, I kinda do hope they change that restriction soon.

Hey-- on a tangental note-- thanks for joining my fractal community! Do you have any info / ideas you'd like to post about? I would love to get things rolling, but don't want to be the only poster. . . thanks either way. . .

Heh. I haven't really been thinking in fractal patterns too much lately, so I don't know of anything to post about right now. I'll try to think of something soon, though!

Cool! Something about your generative work with HAL might relate. . .

thanks for testing this out. I felt punched in the gut that I shouldn't leave once I'd heard they finally added the table and queries necessary for a tag/series/category ... but I was afraid to hope it would be all that and a bag of chips.

Perhaps in time, but I don't have that time.

Ah, I didn't realize that tags were actually a feature regular people really wanted here. Sure, they seem like they can be nifty, but... I dunno, I think I'd rather they give paid users even more icons or something. :-)

Oh, I didn't test out anything myself, btw. Just saw the limitation discussed elsewhere and finally saw the mention in the tag FAQ.

Memories are still unlimited, though. Well, the LJ feature is unlimited, in theory; my personal memory seems decidedly finite!
