Quick vent
Found the household vacuum and saw that the bag had split open, apparently without the responsible party bothering to either notify someone that the cleaner was unusable or to make things so that we'd have a working vacuum again.
My flashlight stopped working tonight. It's possible that the bulb simply burned out, but the switch has been wonky lately and there's probably something else going on. Since I have no money for a new flashlight, I guess this means that the next time the power goes out (or a lightbulb burns out in a critical part of the house) I'll be stumbling around in the dark.
The weather is hot and sticky, I have no air-conditioning, and I'm irritable. Also, the insects seem to be enjoying the climate inside this house far more than I am.
And though I've said it before, I get to say it again: I despise bureaucracy.
