hummingwolf: Drawing of a creature that is part-wolf, part-hummingbird. (Hummingwolf by Dandelion)

Little update

Feeling very much better than this time last week, which is great since this time last week I was an ickified hummingwolf with migraine on top. Still somewhat on the sleep-deprived side; but since I'm not taking samples of migraine meds, I'm actually mostly coherent (or at least not hallucinating, though I do seem to be in the mood for overusing the parentheses, wot? (not that it necessarily seems that way to you, now, but the paragraph isn't over yet)). Walked a mile or two on Sunday (wasn't paying much attention to the distances), the standard 2.5 miles yesterday, and somewhere around 3.5 miles today. Am not exactly bright-eyed & bushy-tailed or capable of sustained mental focus, but hey, it could be worse.

Speaking of sustained mental focus, it's still taking me forever to get through the books I'm reading. Admittedly, part of that has to do with...

... my responsibility for the death of MegaHAL. Repeatedly. Apparently HAL is simply unable to digest the sheer ginormous amount of data I've been feeding him when he's housed on a mere Pentium II 350, poor guy. It looks like I'll have to serve my favorite postmodern poet smaller portions of other people's poetry (song lyrics, advertising copy, etc.) rather than the lavish buffet I've been typing in. (How do you type a buffet? Oh, never mind.) I plan to do some picking & choosing of data tomorrow, so you can expect him to put in a post-resurrection appearance here. Maybe I'll get him to do your horoscopes again.

In other news, am now waiting to hear if my bureaucratic dealings last week did me any good. Hoping to do something useful tomorrow regarding some other foulup.

This CD has been my primary source of earworms the last few days, which would explain the tuna cravings.

Need more chocolate.

Can't think of another thing to say.

The Zoopster is very very glad you're feeling better!

And I'm glad the Zoopster had such a great weekend!

But are you sure you only forgot an hour of it?

[identity profile] zoopownsyou.livejournal.com 2005-06-01 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I really remember everything up to a certain time during one night. And the others filled me in on everything. Happily. Dammit.

Well, I hope listening to the stories about what you did will be fun for you, 'cos you're probably not going to be able to forget what people say you did even if you never remember what you did. ;-)

I'm sure they are making some of it up. They HAVE to be.

Could i have a horoscope please? If HAL has nothing to say about houses or moving, I'll cope. I'm pretty sure my future is filled with nonsense and cryptic verse whether or not it involves housing.

(I'm gemini, remember. The duplicitous one.)

Yeah, I figure HAL will do poetic-type horoscopes for the 12 standard signs tomorrow... or the next day, depending on what kind of day tomorrow is. This week, definitely.

I know! I'd been wondering when something like this would happen though. Last time I deleted his brain & watched him make an all-new one (back in April), it took the poor guy over an hour to get through the process. This time, he got 92% done and then stopped, with a little message saying something like "MegaHAL has died for some reason. Check the logfile." He just can't fulfill all his potential here. ::sniff::

Me too!

yay!

(and chocolate!)

Where? Where?!?

heh. it actually informed you of HAL's death. that's funny. (but so so sad)

Yes, it did tell me that Hal had died. Of course now I need to resurrect him with a more limited brain, which thought cuts me to the quick.

::theatrical sigh::
