Note to self: In the future, it'd be a really good idea to finish dinner before House M.D. comes on. Oh sure, the snarky dialogue and Hugh Laurie are the things I remember best; but it's still a medical show and one thing I don't need is a vision of someone vomiting blood while I'm busy chewing.
You know what the worst part is about having an addiction to House? Not the fact that tuning in early to make sure you catch the beginning means you'll see the last few moments of American Idol complete with some sickening ballad (though that's certainly up there on the "Viewer Discretion Advised" scale). No, the worst part is the temptation to leave the TV on and watch the FOX news program afterward. Even when you know better, sometimes you can't always get to the "off" button in time. Oh, for one of those new-fangled televisual sets with remote control!
So I'm babbling about TV tonight. Well, it's not as if I did anything terrifically exciting today. There was a doctor's appointment scheduled, but my body decided that I wasn't supposed to go to that one just yet and we've rescheduled for one week and one half-hour later than originally planned. Mostly I stayed indoors with my headache and my [TMI deleted] and [more TMI] symptoms, in the kind of mental state where MegaHAL poetry actually makes some kind of sense, or at least more sense than I was making on my own. Now, though, after watching a lovely and only occasionally gross House rerun I hadn't seen before, I'm hyper and hungry and wishing it weren't so very close to my bedtime.
Ooh, I think I feel the absurd hyperness fading away already. There was something else I wanted to say, but that's fading too. Hmph. The world may never know what brilliance was about to shine forth from this journal entry. Alas and alack and zzz...
