I live!

Said I'd either go for a long walk or die trying, so figured it was only fair to let you know I didn't die.

Beautiful day. Blue sky, bright sunshine lighting up a world full of birds and butterflies and budding trees. Temperatures in the mid-60s with the kind of breeze that always makes me so much more buoyant and energetic than I'd otherwise be. In other words, my kind of weather.

The walk (to the DC line but not beyond, then around to a grocery store to use up some o'those food stamps) was long enough for me to be certain that yes, the bronchitis has finally decided to leave me alone after three long months. I can breathe again--just in time for tree pollen season! Heh. There's still too much pain around one of the ribs on my right, but no longer so much that it forces me to take only shallow breaths. It feels so good to be able to really walk again!

I wandered around in a neighborhood I've never spent much time in, looking around and chatting with shopkeepers. Note to people who pay so much attention to their cell phones that you don't notice that those "cheese samples" are really soap: The rest of us really are laughing at you. We're not even talking about you behind your back--we're talking about you as you stand there telling some invisible person where you're going next, and you don't notice a thing. You might want to work on paying attention to your surroundings, at least if you're planning to continue living in urban environments. Thank you for providing the entertainment, though.

There are no deep thoughts waiting to be expressed now, so I'll just type out what I had for supper: Hummus sandwich with tomato, onion, and cucumber on whole wheat; a small salad with more hummus & some Swiss cheese; curry-seasoned cashews; a couple of kumquats; and some Celestial Seasonings Red Safari Spice rooibos tea. Dessert will be some red grapes. After this, I plan to collapse in bed for the next year or so. I overdid things today, but I think it was worth it.

Yay. It's about time. :-)

BwaHaHahahaha. Yes indeed.

Indeed!

Though I still have a little bit of a cough, that seems to be coming from my throat rather than my lungs. I blame the tree pollen.

I feel a little sorry for these cell phone addicts. Well, I feel more than a little sorry for the ones walking on busy streets near the DC line, since I expect them to get run over by a bus. (Probably they won't all be run over by the same bus, but you never know.)

Your supper sounds yummy and your icon is gorgeous--so serene.

:)

Supper was delicious! It's been too long since I had fresh tomatoes. Out-of-season supermarket tomatoes may not be as good as the ones you can get from a farmer's market when they're in season, but they're still better than no tomatoes at all.

I love this icon too! It's the first one I ever made for this LJ & it amazes me that people aren't sick of it yet. :-)

I'm glad you're feeling better...and I totally want grapes now. :)

Here's hoping you find grapes on sale like I did. Mmm... grapes. :-)

I'm glad you had a workable walk, and that the stamps are stamping!

Thank you! I'm glad too!

I clearly did overdo things yesterday, but it was a nice change of pace. After months where "overdoing" was defined as "Walking a couple of blocks, very slowly," it's good to be able to redefine the term as "walking about 5-6 miles at a brisk pace."
