Once again, I was scheduled for a hearing and never actually saw the judge. Credit where credit is due: The guy I spoke with yesterday was more helpful than he seemed, making sure that I had food stamps back yesterday afternoon. (I saw their computer printout, so yes, I really do have the food stamps back!) Still don't have cash benefits, but he thought my best bet would be to bring in more documentation from my doctors. I decided to take his word for it. Probably would've gone through the hearing anyway, except my fuzzy vision & hearing in the lobby told me I was much closer to passing out than I thought I would be.

So basically, I'm back to where I was before the start of the month, except for having more information now. Food stamps + medical = much better than no benefits at all. Here's hoping that the power of Medicaid will help me get enough paperwork to convince this lot that I should be getting money again.

In the meantime, it still hurts to breathe, but now I can get medical treatment and fresh fruit! Woohoo!

Excellent choices, both. :-)
I'm glad to hear things are working themselves out, bit by bit.

Yes! It's great to be able to get medical treatment! And with the medical treatment, it's great to be able to get yogurt to deal with antibiotic side effects. :-)
