I heart psychic radio

Still listening to Launchcast, I was remembering someone's complaint that their station only played popular songs by the artists they listened to, even if they'd rated less popular ones. Wondered silently to myself, "Does my station play 'Every Breath You Take' more often than the less well-known [Police song] 'I Burn for You'?"

See what Launch is playing for me now.

I think I'm going to go fire up my station right now. It's late enough in the month that I don't think I'm going to have to worry about quotas. Thanks for reminding me.

Oh, and they should totally allow rating of commercials. Presenting someone with more well-targetted advertising is a more effective tactic.

In the late '90s there was a website called Firefly (unrelated to the later TV show, eventually bought out by Microsoft who killed it) where you could rate albums, movies, and maybe some other stuff. The site would recommend things for you based on yours & others' ratings (could be wrong, but I think the guys who coded that are the ones who started Launch). For a while, you *could* rate the banner ads on the site. Though your ratings didn't actually influence the ads you saw, there was a certain satisfaction in giving the lowest possible rating to the most annoying ads.
