Bits
I just realized in which alternate universe the latest explanation of my benefits cutoff makes sense, and I don't like it. Something may have gotten lost in translation and I don't like it at all. (Filed for hearing, but still seemingly on track to lose food stamps and Medicaid as of this coming Monday. Your friendly neighborhood hummingwolf is stressed out.)
On a happier note, a grocery store security guard told me yesterday that I have "a young, pretty face." I smiled and thanked him. Of course anytime someone compliments you with the term "young," that means they think it obvious you are old enough to consider "young" a compliment. In my case, the very grey hair would be a giveaway (though my hands have also been cracked and gnarled-looking every winter since my age hit double digits). Still, it's the second time in recent memory that some stranger has called me "pretty" at a random moment, so it's nice to hear.
On the topic of hair: Turtlenecks are annoying at the best of times, but they become infuriating if you try to put one on when you have waist-length hair.
I still can't believe I have waist-length, largely-grey hair.
Finally finished the fifth Harry Potter this week, so I can now say to the vast majority of HP fanfic writers: You guys are on some powerful crack. I look forward to the next book, though.
I have no chocolate and I must scream.

Oh, and yes, the SSA suck ass. I hope that you can kick their asses enough that they keep your benefits going.

Well, the hair isn't *entirely* grey, and it's wavy enough that it's not always obvious that it goes down to my waist. But my mane is liberally leavened with white (leavened mane? what kind of metaphor is that??) and noticeably long anyway. :-) The last photo of me was taken almost two years ago, so no pics. I hope there's a way for me to get a haircut soon, 'cos this is kinda ridiculous.

They do, but at the moment I'm righteously furious with the county and state. Okay, food stamps are a federal program, but it's the state who decides whether or not I can get them, it seems.

Or find somebody else who can kick their asses. Right now my ass is still getting kicked by this bronchitis. "Oh, acute bronchitis! That should be gone in a week!" Now nearing the end of month two... bleah.
So how are you doing?
