No idea how I got to these errors, but they do amuse the heck out of me.

Are cats for true Christians? This had me very nearly speechless for some time. If it is a parody, it is an excellent one. The fact that there is a strong probability that the piece was meant in all seriousness is one of the reasons why I place little faith in the hnau of this planet. It is strongly recommended that you do not try to follow the "logic" too closely. (And for the record, in Revelation Jesus is referred to as the Lion of the tribe of Judah, so the bit about lions never being referred to favorably is just silly (and what the heck is that blather about lecithin?).)

Erm. Right then, moving on: a few days ago, nalidoll alerted me to this site, which should remove any bad tastes from your mouth. I am doubtful of the wisdom of eating Loki or another trickster, though. One wonders what kind of laxative they might be hiding.

The 'cats for Christians, yes or no?' bit also says that cats are somehow related to snakes, despite the rather obvious differences. According to that article, cats are more related to snakes than they are to dogs. Cats... furry serpents with four legs.

I do wonder why none of my cats ever acted even remotely like snakes.

heh. according to one of the myths in Tanith Lee's "Flat Earth" series of books, they are.

perhaps the author of this is a closet dark-fantasy reader. shame on them.

So they've never curled up in the sunshine for warmth as if they were cold-blooded creatures? Or slithered around and in between things which you didn't think anyone with a skeletal system would be able to get around or in between?

I didn't read the whole article. My brain couldn't take it. Kudos to you if you managed, and I hope the therapy bills aren't too outrageous. ;-)

BTW, are the Tanith Lee books good? Somehow I've never gotten round to reading those. Of course at the moment I am working my way through the Harry Potter doorstops, but I'm always on the lookout for more good stuff to read.

funny, i was just telling a friend a bit ago that i wanted to make it to the Vagina Monologues this year just to pick up some of the pink chocolare 'ginas that they sell there.

because those amuse me, greatly.

and while i am not a fan of white chocolate (because it is not real chocolate - so declares the dolli who buys 82% chocolare bars from Whole Foods), when it is coloured Pink and formed into disembodied genitalia it does have its uses.

and as for Tanith Lee... some of her stuff is the best ever. and some of her stuff is the worst tripe i have ever had the misfortune to pick up and feel compulsively compelled to finish.
but we have identified the bad stuff as being Rent Books written during dark and struggling years. this may or may not be true, but it makes me sleep better at night believing one of my favorite authors would not purposely write such horrid wastes of tree-flesh.

i recommend the Flat Earth books, as well as the Books of Paradys.
i love her Drinking Sapphire Wine and Don't Bite The Sun (one cover of which is the icon here), which have been re-released together as Biting The Sun. i also like Silver Metal Lover, which has the same basic theme.

she has a werewolf novel called "Heart Beast" that contains some of the most beautifully surreal scenes i have ever read.

if you see something called "Days of Grass", run far and fast in another direction.
actually, if you run into anything that was released by DAW, email me first and i'll save you from the trauma of losing hours of your life that you will never ever get back.

but yes, she is one of my favorite authors, and you sort of either Really Get Why or you don't. she also has short stories available all over in anthologies, and in collections of her own, often re-tellings of faerie tales. those rock. (she does amazing things with Red Riding Hood.)
