One of these days...

... I will get back to reading people's posts on Dreamwidth and LiveJournal, but that day is not this day. I keep coming back to read a few entries on a few semi-randomly-selected journals, but then I realize I've managed to tire myself out too much to read any more; so if you've seen me leave a comment in one place that seemed disconnected from everything else you'd have expected me to see, that's why. Briefly, I've been tiring myself out by:

(A) following online drama elsewhere (for those who know Slacktivist: I've been reading comments on both the new site and the old site, and yes, that is only possible because I have no life)

(B) continuing to be sick. Not coughing nearly as much as I was, but the bronchitis is still with me to a certain extent. I went outside and walked a reasonable amount on Monday & Tuesday and took a very short walk today (Wednesday), so I'm not just sitting here like a bump in a bed anymore. My rib cage is hurting a lot now, though, so when I do cough it is even more unpleasant than it was before.

(C) reading things written by adult children of alcoholics about their family life and doing some comparing & contrasting with growing up with a chronically ill parent. The differences are obvious, but in retrospect it seems to me that some of the similarities should have been obvious to me before now. I may share some of my thoughts on this topic later, but I'd advise you all not to hold your breath--mostly because somebody should be getting enough oxygen and I'm not sure it's going to be me.

Tomorrow we're supposed to get some heavy rain. Sounds like a good excuse to stay home and rest some more.
