Scattered bits
My motto for today was "If you can do only one thing today--Do it! Then quit complaining about the five other things you can't do, since you can't do anything about them anyway." So that's what I did. And then didn't. Am I making sense? Eh, probably not.
Have not yet reduced the number of crises in my life, but am now at the point of fervently praying that that light I see down the tunnel is not an oncoming train. Things should be better next week. Next week. In the meantime, I've done what I can about the big thing for this week, and will see if there's any little thing I can do tomorrow.
Was in a crowded room where the two TV sets were playing Harry Potter and Lilo & Stitch, so I didn't have to hear the 21-gun salute or whatever other noisy inaugural noises there may have been this time. (Yes, I do live very close to Washington, DC. Heard the fireworks last night, though they were not visible.) Worker at social services told me I looked healthier today than last week. Said I was much less flushed. Heh. Yes, generally I do look less flushed when I'm not having a meltdown. (We were both very pleasant today, for the record.)
For my unemployed friends: When people ask that awkward question, "So what do you do?" they will often accept "I fight bureaucracy!" as a valid answer. Sometimes they even cheer.
I am feeling better physically, though still very tired. Some of the mucus in my lungs has migrated up to my nose, which means I do more sneezing but less wheezing.
Listening to lots of Celtic-themed Launchcast fan stations the last couple of days. The Boys of the Lough fan station many not play any Boys of the Lough, but any station playing Martyn Bennett and Laura Love works for me.

Oh well. I hope it was enough.

I usually say, "I draw comic books." But that has the unfortunate side effect of them wanting to know which books, whether I work for Marvel or DC, and how much money it makes.
Now, I suppose, I can say I foster cats. Before Happy, I was only fostering the one cat, so saying I foster cats was inaccurate. Or I can say I'm a feline behavior specialist! That might go over well. I'll have to give it a try.

"Feline behavior specialist!" I like that. But you might end up having the same kind of problem doctors have, where people come up to them at social events and try to get free advice. Then again, it might be fun to give free advice if you don't expect anyone to take it.
