Before going to attempt useful things

There really is no point to this post.

As I have said before, I don't believe in astrology but love it anyway.

Personalized free forecast for yesterday from astro.com:

Selfless service
This is a very peculiar influence and is usually accompanied by strange feelings. You are likely to feel extremely irritable and itchy without quite knowing why. And at the same time you may feel discouraged and incapable of doing anything useful. Feelings of weakness and inferiority are quite common during this time, but it is best not to take these feelings too seriously. This time is good for any activity that is totally selfless and involves serving others. These activities are the exception to the rule that you shouldn't begin anything now. However, you must be certain that you are not working for secret and selfish advantage through these activities. If you are, it will come to naught. On the physical level, you should be careful not to abuse your body during this period.

Mars Conjunction Neptune exact at 20:48
activity period from 19 December 2004 to 22 December 2004.

Forecast for today:

Mentally active
This will be a mentally active day for you, because ideas and communications will come at you very quickly, and you will have to understand not only the surface communication but also the underlying meaning. In talking with others, be particularly aware of any hints they may drop about their motivations. This influence tends to produce interactions with others that test the clarity of your thinking and force you to prove the validity of what you say. You certainly will not consider this a boring day. Unless your thinking and communications are very poorly thought out, you should be able to accomplish whatever you set out to. But there is also the possibility of arousing opposition to your purposes and ideas that could become very intense later on. That is why it is important to listen as well as to put forth your ideas.

Sun Square Mercury exact at 13:56
activity period from 20 December 2004 to 22 December 2004.

Forecast for tomorrow:
On target
Valid during many months: During this time you will be able to withstand great tests of strength if you have to. Your own power and internal strength form a structure that can withstand considerable difficulty. You can work hard and focus tremendous energy on the tasks before you.
Within yourself you have some understanding of the forces that make you an individual. You know exactly what you can demand of yourself, and you push yourself to the limit, but not beyond. Consequently this can be a time of great achievements.

At the same time you will voluntarily restrict the focus of your energies, which makes them even more effective. You understand what area to work on, so your focused energy hits exactly the right target. Fortunately this principle applies to work that you do within yourself as well as in the external world.

In the outer world the manifestations of this influence are many and varied. First, you will probably work harder than you have in many years, and the work will be extremely productive. People will see that your achievements have grown directly out of your inner being, that they are a product of your own growth. In your work, your employers will see that you apply yourself with unusual diligence to the tasks at hand, and they will be favorably impressed. They will recognize that you are someone to be reckoned with. This may well be a time of professional advancement.

In other news, it is just as I feared: now that Launch has finally reached agreement with (most of) the major record labels, my station really does demonstrate beyond a shadow of a doubt that I'm a child of the '80s. (Okay, some of it sounds more like the '70s. Eep.) I am so ancient; do you hear my bones creaking? Fortunately, there's enough loud stuff to keep my station from falling into the dreaded "Adult Alternative" trap.

That is a cool couple of playlists! Personally, I believe music is a positive thing-- essentially, all music is good. Even "Adult Alternative" has a value to some. . .

Oh, I don't really have a problem with Adult Alternative as a genre. It's just that getting music from all these people who had hits in the '80s and '70s already makes me seem old and unhip; having a primarily AA station would be too much to endure.
