...earlier this afternoon, that was just me when for the third time (three times out of four now) that I was supposed to see this person for an appointment, I was told when I got there that the person would not be able to make it.

Can I quit now?

Can you spare bus fare so I can go the next time I'm gulliblehopeful enough to go to a scheduled appointment? I'm fresh out. Well, almost--I have enough money to get there again, but I wouldn't be able to get back home.

Home? That's a painful word right now. Still getting nowhere when it comes to finding a home.

And don't get me started about the latest bureaucratic foulup. Just... argh.

The AOL free trial runs out soon. You may not be hearing from me at all next week.

ok first of all, contact that person's supervisor and tell them what you have spent in busfare going there three times when they are a no show. Tell them you are nearly homeless and ask them what they can do to help as you are getting truly desparate.

AFter that... consider writing to your local press about all this. Some news channel with an investigative reporter might enjoy doing a story on them.

Hell, write it, and cc a copy to the supervisor of the person who keeps standing you up!

Well, as far as I can tell, much of it isn't the fault of the person I was supposed to meet. There have been emergencies and/or miscommunications, apparently, but I really do need to talk with them in some detail before attempting to meet with them again.
