hummingwolf: Drawing of a creature that is part-wolf, part-hummingbird. (Hummingwolf by Dandelion)

Oh no! It's a Survey Thing! Kill it! Kill it now!!!

As seen on the journals of such fine people as [livejournal.com profile] itsacountry (support our troops! send her eggnog!) and [livejournal.com profile] darth_spacey (recently elected dictatormod of [livejournal.com profile] computergeeks).

1. First Name: Begins with C, it's a type of song.

2. Were you named after anyone? No, though I would have been named after my grandfather if I had been a boy. Apparently this annoyed my aunt who, unlike my mother, remembered that my grandfather actually hated his name. Good thing I was a girl.

3. Do you wish on stars? I wish I could see them more often--I live in Light-PollutionLand.

4. When did you last cry? Probably a couple of days ago.

5. Do you like your handwriting? When I have enough fine motor control to write neatly, yes.

6. What is your favorite lunch meat? Thinly-sliced steak. Mmm... cheesesteak.

7. What is your birth date? 10/06/1969

8. What is your most embarrassing CD? They don't embarrass me, but I've been mocked for buying Right Said Fred's Up, a bunch of Jackson Browne CDs, and several albums (including one CD) by early-'70s one-hit wonder Ides of March.

9. If you were another person, would YOU be friends with you? Yes, and I'd get into all sorts of weird debates with me.

10. Are you a daredevil? No.

11. Have you ever told a secret you swore not to tell? Not that I recall, though there have been a couple of times when I told a secret I had not known was so secret. I hate when that happens.

12. Do looks matter? They have no effect on a person's basic worth as a person. However, they matter rather a lot when it comes to romantic attraction.

13. How do you release anger? Usually either physical activity or ranting to a sympathetic person.

14. Where is your second home? Where is my first?

15. Do you trust others easily? With the exceptions of rare folks who set off my instinctive trust/distrust alarm, I trust everyone up to a point. Past that point, people have to earn it.

16. What was your favorite toy as a child? Lego! Some friends of the family gave our family a collection of old Lego pieces, many of them dingy and old but all together a sight to cheer my wondering eyes. But my brothers always used to hog the Legos, telling me I was too young to build "serious" things the way they did. Silly boys. Even when I was in my 20s, one of them tried to get me to give him all the Lego, using the spurious excuse that he had friends whose children sometimes visited his apartment. Pfft. They're my Legos now.

17. What class in high school do you think was totally useless? Can't think of any useless subjects, but there were one or two useless teachers.

18. Do you have a journal? Yes, this one.

19. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Yes, but not nearly as often as I used to.

22. What are your nicknames? There are rather a lot of them, ranging from simple initials (CB, HW) to silly things (Ears Optional).

23. Would you bungee jump? It doesn't appeal to me, but I would like to go skydiving some day.

24. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off? Yes. With narrow feet, shoes have to be tied tightly if you want them to stay on.

26. Do you think that you are strong? Physically: Leg muscles are strong, but sometimes betrayed by knee and ankle pain. Upper-body strength is pathetic. Psychologically: I am a solid core of some unidentified substance obscured by a quivering mound of pudding.

27. Favorite Ice cream flavor? Depends on my mood, but you can't go wrong with Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia.

28. Shoe Size? I'm not sure anymore. My feet seem to be shrinking.

29. Red/Pink? Today: Deep pink.

30. What is your least favorite thing about yourself? I don't take enough of my better advice.

31. Who do you miss most? Some friends I haven't been able to get hold of.

32. Do you want everyone you send this to send it back? Well, seeing this survey posted by everyone on my flist would certainly provide a lot of reading material.

33. What color pants and shoes are you wearing? Blue jeans, brown plaid slippers.

34. What are you listening to right now? My Launchcast station.

35. Last thing you ate? Chick peas & cheese because nothing else appealed to me.

36. If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Green-blue.

37. What is the weather like right now? Sunny with temperatures in the upper 40s (around 8 or 9 degrees Celsius).

38. Last person you talked to on the phone? Family friend.

39. The first thing you notice about the opposite sex? Depends who they are and how we meet. As a general rule, it is better if the first thing I notice is their smile rather than their need for a bath.

40. Do you like the person who sent this to you? [livejournal.com profile] darth_spacey and [livejournal.com profile] itsacountry are both cool people.

42. Favorite Drink? At the moment, Celestial Seasonings' Tuscany Orange Spice tea.

43. Favorite Sport? Eh.

44. Hair Color? Basic brown with lots of white mixed in.

45. Eye Color? Usually green; sometimes blue.

46. Do you wear contacts? Not anymore.

48. Favorite Food? It varies. Right now I wish I had a cheesesteak.

49. Last Movie You Watched? In the theater: Lilo & Stitch. On TV: Can't recall.

50. Would you like to add a question here, since it was blank? When the apple blossoms bloom in the windmills of your mind, will you be my valentine?

51. Scary Movies Or Happy Endings? I can't have both?

52. Summer Or Winter? Winter.

53. Hugs or Kisses? I can't have both?

54. Can you live in a small space with three other people and not get irritable? Which three people and for how long?

55. What Is Your Favorite Dessert? Usually something chocolatey, though fruit pies are good too.

57. Who Is Least Likely To Respond? Anyone who is not incredibly bored.

58. Living Arrangements? Room in a house shared with other renters.

59. What Books Are You Reading? If I told you, I would have to kill you. No, really? There is a book about the motivations of murderers, a book about fibromyalgia and its treatments, and another book which seems interesting as I'm reading but has escaped my memory for now.

60. What's On Your Mouse Pad? A Thomas Kinkade painting of a lighthouse in a storm. It was a gift, so Thomas Kinkade haters may put your pitchforks down now please.

61. What's your favorite number? I have a love-hate relationship with the number 36.

62. What Did You Watch Last night on TV? An Angel rerun (demons in a boxing ring) and an episode of Stargate SG-1.

63. Favorite Smells? Damp trees after rain, cinnamon, roses.

64. Rolling Stones or Beatles? Beatles.

65. Do you believe in Evolution or Creationist? I can't have both?

66. What's the furthest you've been from home? Southern California.

1. Chorus? :)
14. That's the answer I was looking for in my head. Thanks. :)
39. I laughed and even snorted a little. That's true, especially out here where hygiene tends to get re-defined.
49. *LOVE* that movie.

1. I said song, not singing group. :-)
49. It's so cute! Almost makes waiting in social services worthwhile when they play the movie in the waiting area.

Here's to you having them both more often.

Although I think I guessed the name right, Chanty and Cha-cha did come to mind.

I suppose I could have typed out my first name, but people's guesses are much more amusing.

I have a good friend named Chantelle... is that it?

Not Chantelle. :-) If I read your survey responses right, my first name is a kind of song often sung at about the time of your middle name.

My thought process...

"Christmas?? What a weird na-- ooooh... CAROL. Gotcha."

:D
