Update & stuff

I actually did manage to make some phone calls yesterday, though not nearly as many as I could have. Went to pick up some prescriptions and then watched for half an hour as someone else made phone calls. (Ah, the joys of bureaucracy.) In spite of all the mileage of this weekend wearing me out, I walked a total of 2.5 miles yesterday. And then I went to sleep for about 10.5 hours, which helped considerably.

Today I've begun to take a new medication. This means, given a history of weird reactions, that I must be on the lookout for bad side effects of the drug, particularly any that interfere with my cognitive processes. So far everything seems permeable illite dwindle iguanodon banana! banana! BANANA! so all seems well for now.

Was reading a comment a few minutes ago that made me laugh out loud: "Kerry wants to be all things to all people, at all times. How dumb does he think we are??" The reason this amuses me? The comment was made on a Christian conservative blog, by someone who is presumably a Christian conservative (they certainly seemed offended by Kerry's "values"). It seems to me that someone going on about biblical values should be less negative about being all things to all men. But the commenter would probably be offended if I pointed out that a hated politician had something in common with the apostle Paul. I'm still a little giggly.

A Bush supporter asking "how dumb does [x] think we are?" is ironic of its own self.

Now, now, behave. There are plenty of intelligent Bush supporters out there. They just happen to need better-quality tinfoil hats like the ones you and I have.

Noooo! I didn't mean those who support Bush are dumb; I just meant that many of the things Bush does make me say, "How dumb does he think we are?" Like those wildfires in the West a while back and him taking the podium and saying "We're gonna allow timber companies access to Federally-protected forests to cut down trees so we won't have so much fahr!" Dude, are you really trying to tell me you're protecting forests by allowing timber companies to cut down trees???

Well, that comment sounds more like you! Though it seems to me that pretty much every national politician expects the voters to be either too dumb or too cynical to pay that much attention to what they say.

Thanks HW :-)

Thank you from an intelligent Bush supporter. Or at least I think I'm intelligent, but being a Republican in Maryland is sort of self-defeating, so perhaps I'm not as bright as I'd like to believe I am. ;-D You can't believe how much #*&@* I have to take from people who foam at the mouth at the very mention of Bush.

Regarding the latest and not greatest...(((HW))). Hope the new med will prove moderately beneficial. *snuggles* from Jenny

Jen, you've fallen victim to the Evil Mind-Control Rays of this present dastardly administration. But we love you anyway. :-)

::snuggles:: back.

(I can't tell if the new med has made me more alert or if I'm still benefiting from that 10.5 hours of sleep recently. It doesn't seem to be killing me, so that's a plus.)

MOO ha ha ha...while you're sleeping, the Evil Mind-Control Rays will have their dastardly way with *you*. Just rest quietly and come along peacefully. It doesn't hurt if you just give in. You will be assimilated. *snerk* Love from your Republican friend (just to prove that friendship is non-partisan). Jenny

Tell me where it is. I'm in a cheeky mood, and I'd love the chance to point out that at least Kerry isn't bent on being a husband to every wife, and a wife to every husband. Which is another problem and another historical personage altogether ;-)

P.S. BaNaNa.

Oh, it's just part of one of the comments here. Nothing incredibly interesting going on there; I was simply amused by that one bit, seeing as it was something Paul'd said about himself. Overall, I'd say the comments here are more amusing.

P.S.--but we're supposed to render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's, right?

Yay for all the walking you're doing. A bigger yay for 10.5 hours of sleep. It's so good for you.

You make me laugh out loud Thanks.

Howard Jones - yum. His music is beautiful.

I'm not sure that all the walking is really a good idea at this point, but it's usually my favorite way to get around. The sleep is definitely good for me, though. Here's hoping I can get at least half as much sleep tonight.

Howard Jones' Dream Into Action was the first CD I ever bought (not the first album, just the first shiny disk). It still sounds terrific after all these years.
