Random childhood memory
Once upon a time, while eating some opaque soup (probably tomato) which had come out of a can, I bit down on something hard. Something in my soup! It turned out to be two somethings: two poodle-shaped refrigerator magnets, one black and one white. My mother said she had nothing to do with them--they must have been in the can. As far as we knew, there was no promotion featuring toy surprises in your soup. There were just two anonymous dog magnets stuck in the food for no apparent reason. Odd.
You will understand what a drastically different era that was when I tell you that we cleaned off those puppies, stuck them on the fridge, and never sued anybody at all.
~~~~~
In other news, I'm trying to decide whether or not to panic. Please distract me.
Distraction attack!
God bless you and keep you strong, hon.
Re: Distraction attack!
Should be distracting myself by making phone calls, but the one call I can't make till after 4:30 is one of the things I need to not think about till then. Argh.
(Anonymous) 2004-06-30 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)As for distraction...I emailed you earlier today! If you need distraction, you can always try gathering all the gossips you know and giving them to me.
I'm being lazy too (kinda). Debating whether I should be nice and go help a friend for Moving Day tomorrow (it's a Quebec thing...we almost all move on the same day. We expect 20K moves tomorrow just for Quebec city and 300K moves in the province...we rock and are very logical dammit) but I don't want to shoot my back for a little trip this weekend. Might attend to go see Spiderman if my friend can get off work early.
That wasn't really entertaining. I'm boring.
Re: Zoop Says
Or maybe my mother lied and she really did put those magnets in my soup for some crazy reason.
Zoopiemail! I saw that! I don't have much to say in response, but I saw it.
It greatly amuses me that everybody moves all at once. You have no idea how cute that is.
Yes, go see Spiderman!
You succeeded in distracting me for a little while. Thank you.
Good, good. It's cool if you don't have anything to reply to it, but if you get bored, feel free to email me about anything, as always.
It's cute because foreign journalists are lurking around the streets so damn amused. That and beer and junk food get at ridiciously low prices.
It's not cute because it's a mess. It allows owners to rise the rents and the prices for trucks or movers are ridiculous. Also, it's harder to find people to help out since everyone knows several people moving that day. Also, a lot of people lose to the musical chair game and are left without a place to stay (really active time for the Red Cross).
Yes, go see Spiderman!
I'll try. It plays every half hour, but if we went after people are off work, I think we'll be without luck for tickets. If my friend can get off early (maybe around 15h00-16h00 he said), we'll give it a shot.
you too! It's not like I have anything to say. Well, I do, but I don't want to talk about it right now. Argh.
Eek. That's not so good. Not even cheap junk food makes up for that, though the cheap beer probably helps.
(Anonymous) 2004-06-30 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)Oh sure...that's funny to YOU.
Anytime you feel like it, really. Even if I'm less around lately. And I'll try and email you more. Next week at least (unless I don't go the moving helping way tomorrow...I'd email you then).
It's especially bad since it's targetted. It really opens the door to discrimination. Owners can easily refuse to rent to people based on judgements (single mothers, families with many kids, low income families, immigrants) knowing damn well they will find someone to rent to anyway considering the affordable appartments shortage.
But yes, the cheep beer helps.
