::blink::

Ever since I moved here, I've known it's truly springtime when the ice cream truck starts to come around, playing "It's a Small World" over and over and over again all the while the weather is warm. Sometimes in recent years there's been relief from the Disney tune in the form of "Popeye the Sailor Man" or some other kiddie classic. Today, however, the ice cream truck has been playing a much wider variety of tunes than usual. What gets me is that the melodies have included "Silent Night," "Joy to the World," "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing," and "Adeste Fideles."

Should I be writing out my Christmas list now?

Heh. I might not have been so surprised if they'd been playing songs like "Frosty the Snowman," maybe to remind people of cooler days as they hawk their ice cream. But hearing melodies of the religious Christmas tunes kinda confused me there for a bit.
